چکیده

Elective surgical repair has traditionally been considered to be the treatment of choice for the exclusion of isolated iliac artery aneurysms (IAAs). Recently, endovascular repair has evolved as an alternative to surgical repair, especially in patients at high surgical risk. However, in the absence of sufficient proximal necks, iliac artery aneurysms are not suitable for direct deployment of a tubular-shaped endograft. Here we report two cases of IAAs with short proximal necks that were excluded using an endovascular bifurcated stent-graft. The bifurcated stent-graft was successfully deployed with complete exclusion of the aneurysm. In neither case was there evidence of procedural failures. There were no signs of significant complications. We conclude that endovascular repair of IAAs with short proximal necks is feasible and efficient using an endovascular bifurcated stent-graft.

Bilateral isolated internal iliac artery aneurysms treated by bifurcated stent-graft combined with the coil embolization: a case report

We report the case of an 80-year-old patient with bilateral isolated internal iliac artery aneurysms (IIIAAs), which were diagnosed by computer tomography angiography (CTA). Aneurysms with short proximal necks and large diameters were treated with coils, followed by placement of a bifurcated stent-graft within the aortic and external iliac arteries. When ectopic embolism and a type III endoleak...

Dilatation of Common Iliac Arteries after Endovascular Infrarenal Abdominal Aortic Repair with Bell-Bottom Extension

OBJECTIVE Endovascular techniques to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms results in lower morbidity and mortality rates. However, dilation of the common iliac arteries prevents adequate distal sealing, which compromises the procedure success. The aim of this study is report the long-term outcomes of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms associated with aneurysm of the common iliac artery follow...

Endovascular Treatment of Isolated Iliac Artery Aneurysms with Anaconda Stent Graft Limb

Isolated aneurysms of the iliac arteries are relatively rare conditions that traditionally have been treated by surgical reconstruction. We report our experience with endovascular treatment of iliac artery aneurysms (IAAs) with Anaconda stent graft limb. Two male patients were found to have 4.5 and 3.6 cm isolated common IAAs, respectively. The endograft was successfully advanced and deployed p...

From the Society for Vascular Surgery Endovascular management of isolated iliac artery aneurysms

Objective: We reviewed our experience with endovascular treatment of isolated iliac artery aneurysms (IAAs). Methods: Medical records for consecutive patients undergoing endovascular IAA repair from 1995 to 2004 were reviewed. Computed tomography (CT) angiograms were used to assess IAA location, size, and presence of endoleaks after endovascular repair. Rates of primary patency and freedom from...
